OUTCLASSED - Man United that is

With dirty cheats like Gary Neville and Christiano Ronaldo they make themselves even more hateable. I came away from that game with a sick taste in my mouth. At the start of the game, a minority of United fans saw fit to sing during the minutes silence. Something that can only be defined as scum.

Ronaldo: Needs to cut out the Showboating
I'd like to take this opportunity to point out that a lot of United fans shut these idiots up and these are a credit to their club and to football itself. I wouldn't like to tar the United fan base with the same brush.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been the subject of much debate, the guy is a fantastic talent and a footballing mastermind, but it is depressing to see his arrogance and gamesmanship. Taking the p*ss in the final, with all his fancy flicks, he even enraged Sir James Bullard:

"I was just waiting for him to do it again, then I could kick him up in the air, I respect him as a great player, but that's just part of his game and I'm sure he does it just to wind you up."

The guy is not what we want in football, he needs to change his attitude very quickly. Maybe he should take a leaf out of Wayne Rooney's book, only last year Rooney was a foul mouthed pillock, but this year he has changed his ways, his attitude is impeccable and he is among the best in the world. He is a credit to Man United and to english football unlike his team mate Ronaldo.

Wigan Athletic FC did me proud, once again we went down fighting. We played United off the park, and deserved 3 points and a 2 goal gap but all we got was poor refereeing and we were unlucky enough to concede 2 late and flukey goals. But to come away with a defeat to Man United disappointed shows how far we have come. I remember leaving the Reading game at the JJB a few years back after having lost 2-0 and remember thinking "naaah we were outclassed today."

But on Monday our heroes outclassed the 3rd best team in the league, we played them off the park. Hopefully this defeat will spar the boys on to go on another good run, just like our defeat to Chelsea did, but one thing is for certain, Wigan Athletic FC are a credit to the premier league and to football itself. I for one am very proud of the lads and can't wait for our next game.
