Goodbye to man with the biggest boots in Football!

The ‘Chimbonda Saga' has been amongst us now for almost four months. Since that afternoon in Highbury when one little man decided he was too big to play for the club that gave him his big break anymore. Rumbling through his bag and shoving the written request in Paul Jewell's hand whilst still in his kit saying “Here, read” then walking back to get changed.

Chimbonda: Doesn't deserve to play for Latics

Reports were that PJ was trembling with rage and absolutely furious. I remember breaking the news to people on our coach, the looks of disgust immediately followed. What that man did was nothing short of a joke and he didn't DESERVE to play for Wigan anymore in my honest opinion.

As time passed and it became apparent that Spurs weren't willing to meet Wigan's valuation of the Frenchman, it looked like there was a chance he may actually stay at the club that he felt wasn't up to his standard.

He was booed off the park at Halifax and rightly so. The Reading game was a strange one. Personally, I thought blanking him out would have been the right option, booing a Wigan player in a league game is a bit too far, after all if PJ thought he was in the right mind to play then he must have been. But I think cheering him and singing his name was too far, what has he done to deserve that? He needed to work for that respect and he hadn't done.

Last week, he came out and said that he is staying at Wigan and even the possibility of a new contract was being spoken of but let's be honest, who really believed him?

Now he's gone we as a club can move on from him and concentrate on an even more successful season and with a bit of luck can be singing “Pascal, What's the score, Pascal, Pascal, What's the score?” come the 90th minute against spurs.

Up the tics.
