Comment: Teale will tear them apart again

Teale: Set for a good month
Then, as soon as I vent my disappointment about him, he comes good, leaving me with egg on my face... again.

I should have seen his upturn in form coming.

If you look at his past two seasons in the Championship, Tealey finally came good at the same time during both those campaigns. That time being the second half of the season, and most noticeably, the months of January and February.

Don't believe me?

Look back at the 2003/2004 season. Gary Teale finally came into his best form just after the new year. Who could forget those great performances, and goals against Ipswich and Preston?

Ask yourself when did we play those games?

January and February.

If my memory serves me well I do believe that Tealey was called up to the Scotland squad after the Preston game to play Wales, only for him to get injured at Stoke.

Look at the 2004/2005 season and like the previous season Teale had a disappointing first half only to finally come back into some form after his substitute appearance at then rock bottom club Rotherham.

He scored in that game and that was in January as well. In the following few months Teale began to show some of the form that had earned him an international call up, scoring two more times against Coventry in February and again in March against Brighton.

However, unlike the season before, he did stay in the team, but didn't stay consistent enough throughout the remainder of the campaign.

Teale: Get off his back!
Obviously along with his upturn in form, came a slump in form after the January to March period. Hopefully this season he won't suffer like he previously did and in my opinion the Premiership is made for Gary Teale.

He has one thing that defenders in the premiership hate, and that's his blistering turn of pace.

Despite the amount of people you hear at games screaming "he hasn't got a f**k**g Clue!" towards him, when he used to come off the bench he was one of the few players who generated some excitement between the Wigan fans.

Of course he has his annoying moments and his weaknesses, such as his reluctance to tackle or go for a header. But stats show that in the recent games, no-one has covered more ground for us than Tealey.

Instead of screaming for his head, we should remember what he is capable of, scoring fantastic goals! Remember his solo run against Chesterfield?( I didn't, I was getting the pies!) and his vastly improved crossing ability!

The omens are all there for Saturday, Gary Teale comes into his own during THIS month, so watch out Liverpool! The Flying Scotsman is coming for you... hopefully.
