The bubble has re-inflated

Who cares that before the 3-2 defeat to Arsenal, Wigan were second in the Premiership with 25 points from 11 games?

Who cares that most people had predicted that they would struggle to get into double figure points for the whole season?

Who cares that the Arsenal game ended a run of 8 straight wins?

The fans are all distraught now that they are out of the title race - this season is a complete disaster.

Wigan are rubbish.

And, for any Wet Spam fans reading (bless 'em) there was a hint of sarcasm in my opening paragraph there.

Henri Camara celebrates his hat-trick on Saturday
Wigan have proved the media and fans of all the other clubs (who are obviously jealous of the success that Paul Jewell and his team are having) wrong with a thumping 3-0 win over a distinctly average (and take that as a compliment Charlton - I can think of a lot worse words I'd like to use) Charlton side at the JJB.

The Wiganer.net message board has been swarmed with opposition fans recently claiming that Wigan's bubble had burst but I don't think we'll be seeing much of them again for quite some time now.

Quite how a Sunderland fan can brag about Wigan's 5 defeats I really do not
know, does he or she not look at the table?

Does he or she support the same Sunderland side that have got a whole five points this season?

And he or she thinks he can laugh at a team with a whole 23 more points than his team?

Amazing and quite confusing really considering that Sunderland have now gone 10 games without even picking up a point.

Talking about stupid fans, it is now obvious why Charlton brought such little support over for the game - they all went to the wrong game.

One Charlton fan was left red-faced by his antics on Friday night (if not by his team's dismal performances on the pitch). Going under the name of 'beckett_cafc' he wrote the follwoing on the Newcastle board the day before Charlton played Wigan:

"Come ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2moz is the day when boys become men! Bent will rip
u apart. 4-1 to the mighty Addicks! You're just a small town in
Sunderland!! I bet the Sunderland lot put more of a fight then you will
2moz!
Ur a joke team, joke town and ur women are scrubbers! London boys all the
way! Il enjoy my trip back 2moz! Back to the heaven off London n Charlton
away from the hell of the north!
CHARLTON FOR LIFE !!!!
ADDICKS!"

Only he or she will know why he thought Charlton were playing Newcastle. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if he did travel up to Newcastle for the game.

I wonder if he even realised at any point that he was at the wrong game?

Probably not.

Back to Wigan now and Paul Jewell deserves full praise for the 3-0 win on Saturday.

Most teams would have let their heads go down after five straight defeats and would find it difficult to get back to winning ways after losing confidence but the way Wigan played on Saturday you would have thought that they had just won five consecutively.

PJ has obviously got a good team spirit running through the squad and it is working wonders.

Well done Jewell and all the lads - especially Henri Camara after his superb
hat-trick.
