Run 4 a life 2008 details

Wouldn't it be fantastic to have the event full of the blue and white of Wigan Athletic, as well as raising money for charity?

If you are entering this race and would like to be associated with the WIGANER.net contingent, put on the your Latics jersey and turn this fantastic race blue and white.

For anyone who is sat reading this and thinking I am not an athlete, I cannot be bothered to take part in a run, I will be embarrased to don my shorts and trainers, or simply feels they are not upto the challenge, I would say this...

The event is purely a fun run of just over 3 miles. Many men taking part simply want to improve their health and enjoy the beautful scenery of Haigh Hall.

Many "runners" are of a certain age and simply choose to walk the course and raise money for a very worthwhile cause.

Organiser Phil Hirst said: "The first event in 2005 had 110 people taking part but by last year we had reached 270 and this year we want to break the 500 mark. The more people we can get, the more money we can raise."

All proceeds will be donated by the Wigan Rotary Club to Cancer Research and is aimed to raise money for research into testicular and prostate cancers.

NB. This event is for male runners only.

Please do something worthwhile on the 21st September, Run for a life.
