Comment: For sale - Hospitality Final Ticket

Last updated : 15 February 2006 By Paul Farrington
The Carling Cup Final 2006 on the 26th February was a date that I had much anticipation for and I felt it could be the best day for myself as a Wigan Athletic supporter.

I was ready to fork out £72 for one of the best seats in the house to see my beloved Wigan Athletic take on Manchester United in their first ever major cup final.

I was even more delighted upon hearing the news that I had won a hospitality seat courtesy of Carling. Could the day potentially get any better?

The way the prize was advertised I was under the understanding that the boxes had been awarded to the fans along with a meal and hospitality.

However this is not the case. The supporters have been given a pathetic cheap seat in the lower corner of the ground opposite the tunnel and the "hospitality" is a free meal before the game.

Had I known that this would be the case I would have purchased a decent seat and allowed someone else the opportunity to take advantage of this well intended but disappointing prize.

Don't get me wrong I am grateful for the free meal and ticket but had I known the ticket would be so pathetic I would have passed. I'm sure I'm not alone in this view.

I'm getting used to being let down by Wigan Athletic Football Club.
