Paul Jewell - "Forty points after twenty games is promotion form."
Paul Jewell

"I thought we had the better chances in the second half. Leicester did well in the first half, but we had some good chances but we didn't take them and with the way it's been going for us recently I could only ever see us losing the game. There were two very hard working and honest teams out there who gave their best but we just didn't have the finishing touches there."

"We had some good chances in the second half, there were two committed teams, two honest teams, and we possible just lacked that little bit of quality in the vital areas today."

"Leicester are a very difficult team to beat, their record proves that. They've only lost one in the last nine games, although a lot of those are draws. The teams riddled with Premiership players, they have quality right through the team and I think it's only a matter of time before they will feature in the promotion race, and I think they are one of the best teams we have played this season."

"I put Tealy on although David Wright wasn't doing anything wrong, but I just felt we needed a bit of impetus, and Tealy's pace gave us that. We had more thrust down the right hand side and he did well. We had the better chances. I'm disappointed we have not got all three points, but we have forty points after twenty games is promotion form, and we need to continue that."

Leicester were one of the better teams to visit the JJB this season. They looked impressive in possesion and this disheartened the Wigan boys a little as the usual pressure game was having little effect. Leicester knocked the ball around and the Latics lads did the chasing.

Gary Teale - Getting back to his old self
The game plan changed slightly and the offside trap was used for this game and the midfield did not shut the Foxes down as much as we have some other sides. However Leicester did a lot of off the ball chasing and did not allow the Latics time when in possesion.

Neither side really did enough to win the game, although the last twenty minutes was near constant Latics pressure.

The Foxes had the better of the first half and dominated possesion but didn't carve out too many chances, Lee Morris probably having their best chance in the second half with a near post volley that went over the bar.

Despite not having much possesion, the Latics made a few good chances, the best fell to McCulloch who's diving header hit the post after a centre from Ellington.

All in all a draw was probably a fair result.

Teale also seemed interested in tackling when he came on, he brought the game to life, he's still not as sharp as the Teale before the broken collar bone, but maybe with time...
