United Reaction

We came here with a game plan that worked very, very well and we frustrated United in the first forty-five minutes, but as soon as they scored the first goal, they upped their tempo.

It became difficult for us, but I was a bit disappointed as the game went on as we lost our shape and we didn't get at them. But United have quality players who took their chances and they punished us.

From thereon they attacked us and we had to defend constantly. Whilst you are only 1-0 down you must keep your shape and be disciplined and you can't win the game on your own, you can only do it through team work.

We kept the ball to a certain extent but we should have moved the ball a little bit quicker and be more penetrative to get forward and support Marcus Bent because he was up there on his own, and we didn't do that. Mario Melchiot also came off which didn't help either. We have to take positives from the first half for the way we contained them but the second half was disappointing.

We have to sweep this one under the table now, and take the positives from the first half, and we have to move on and look forward to the next game against Portsmouth, and hopefully we'll have a few players back from injury then.
