The former Burnley front man scored the deciding goal in the first half of extra time as QPR advanced to the Championship Play-off Final against Derby County.
Speaking after the game, QPR manager Redknapp said: “He’s [Austin] scored in almost every game since he’s come back, he’s so important to us.
“It’s a great night for the fans and they’ve got a Wembley trip to look forward to which is great.”
“We’ve got a great game to look forward to now with Derby, they are a good side so it will be an interesting game.
“We can get excited tonight but then we’ll come down to earth.”
QPr will face Derby County at Wembley in the final on Saturday 24th May at Wembley.
