Kristofer Haestad: Debut

"We keep saying it's unlucky every week, but we cannot be unlucky if we keep on conceding ninety minute goals. You come up against good strikers every week in the Premiership but if we had stopped the crosses coming in when we should have done then we might not have lost the game.

"Confidence is a big thing in football, and when we went 1-1 we weren't putting them on the back foot, it was us who were being on the back foot and we invited them to come at us.

"We're not doing the little things, or the basics, the unglamorous bits that fans don't see, and if you don't do them, you won't win games. For example, the first goal is a cross from a throw in and there a lot of things that we have usually always been good at such as getting blocks in, being hard to play against, that we haven't done so much recently. When we make mistakes we are getting punished for it.

"It was a difficult game for Granqvist to come into, but I thought when Haestad came on he did well, he got back with a nice tackle and I think he will become a decent player for us."

Harry Redknapp

"It was a fantastic finish - typical Andy Cole. He's right up there with the top scorers of old, like Jimmy Greaves. He scored an amazing goal against Bolton the other week as well, and there is no way I can let him go. He will be playing again next week (against Sheffield United).

"The league is very important to us, but I still have a lot of love for the FA Cup. That's why I put out a strong team today.I can't understand it when the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal leave out their top goalkeepers in the FA Cup.

"I wasn't sitting on the edge of my seat at 1-0 up. I thought we would win 1-0 - but after McCulloch's great finish, it looked like a replay. But then Kanu came up with another goal. That's 10 for the season, and we are all delighted. It is really good for him. He has done a great job here."

Matthew Taylor

"Obviously the aim of today was to make sure we progressed. Everyone knows the heritage that the FA Cup has and everybody knows how important it is, so we went into the game wanting to win, as I'm sure Wigan did, and I think we deserved the win as well.

"I thought we played the better football and I don't think the result flattered us in anyway - it was the correct result.

"I think when they scored we were contemplating a trip up to Wigan for the replay but fortunately the big man [Kanu] waded in with another goal. It's nice that we're in the next round of the cup and ultimately that's the most important thing.

"I think the game wasn't particularly pleasing on the eye but the main thing for us is that we're through to the next round of the FA Cup and it'll be interesting to see who we get in the draw on Monday."
