Nottingham Forest Reaction: Davies praies for physical Latics

The Forest boss groaned at full time: “There was only one team in it in the second half. We probably should have taken something from the game but we didn’t get one or two breaks in certain areas.

“We looked a complacent team in the first 45 minutes. When you play sides like Wigan, who are physical and have a big presence, you have to compete with their attitude, the upper body battles and win the second balls.

“We didn’t do that in the first 45 mins and we probably deserved to be behind because of that.

“I’m delighted with the games we’ve played and to be going in to the international break with what the players have given us.

“It might be nice for the players to have tasted defeat. Their feet will be firmly back on the ground and it should remove any complacency that existed in the first 45 minutes.”
