Norwich City Reaction: Adams pleased with resolute display

Jonyy Howson's igth minute goal was enough to separate the two sides as Norwich dominated the first half whilst restricting the Latics in the second.

Speaking to the Norwich City official website, Adams said: "We said we wanted to win the game here and I think we needed to win the game here. I'm really pleased with the performance, I've got to say.

"It wasn't a classic. It's not one that you're going to want to sit down and watch half an hour of highlights of, but in terms of what we set out to achieve it was good.

"It was a really professional performance from the players. We got the tactics right, we got the team right and obviously the points are the important thing.

"We changed one or two things, but I said to the players that this performance hasn't been too dissimilar to other performances where we haven't won the game.

"Everyone, rightly so, is affected or opinionated by the results. Was today's performance any better than the one last week? Or the one against Brighton? Probably not.

"We took our chance and we cut out the individual errors that have cost us points. We've got to make sure we do that more consistently, because the performances in general have been of a good enough standard to get more than we got.

"It's one game and we need to back it up. We need to kick on, as we know we can."
