Chris Hutchings

"The boys did fantastic, I said 'well done' to them in the dressing room because it's always a tough place to come to. I was very disappointed with the sending off I'd like to look at it and see what really happened, he (Steve Bennett) said he led with the arm but anyone who knows Kevin Kilbane is not that sort of player.

"I'm very disappointed that a few of the other decisions went again us as well so I'd like the ref to have a look at his performance today. You come to places like this and you are always going to be under pressure. You have got to ride the storm, and we did that until half-time. Obviously, it was a major setback having Kevin sent off.

"But we have got to take the positives out of it. If they had gone down to 10 men, I would have expected us to come away with the points."

Antoine Sibierski (speaking about Titus Bramble)

"At Newcastle, Titus played in front of 52,000 fans and it is different here. Maybe he has got less pressure. Titus looks a different player. I have told him he could play for England - he has done very, very well in the last few games.

"I am not surprised about that because I saw him at Newcastle in training and he is a quality player. But he was not the same during games. Now he is doing very well and I would not be surprised if he got into the England squad.

"He is the same guy but on the pitch he looks more confident. I want him to carry on in this way. Maybe it is the way he is being coached. Maybe he has got more confidence from the staff at Wigan than he got at Newcastle."

Sam Allardyce

"I think that Wigan got off to a good start and came here with a lot of confidence. We also started with a lot of confidence, got the width, got numerous chances, goals disallowed, shots wide, keeper saving, so coming into half-time with a 0-0 situation was very frustrating for us and we new we should have been 1-0 up at that stage.

"But then in second half the scene changed with the sending-off, they weren't going to venture forward, they were going to get nine men behind the ball to get a point and frustrate us.

"In the end we needed some quality and some patience and we got what we deserved and that was a 1-0 win. A great finish from Michael Owen and a great cross from Obafemi Martins."
