Paul Jewell (Wigan Athletic)

"We saw a lot of possession that should have maybe deserved a draw from the game, but we didn't hurt them enough in the final third when we had good opportunities."

"I am dissapointed in the result but i am really pleased with the effort that the players are putting in, and there is lots of optimism in our dressing room today. We've done well in the three games we've played without scoring enough goals."

"They say possession is nine-tenths of the law but it doesn't win you matches so we have to take our chances when they come. We're just not making enough of our possession."

Harry Rednkapp (Portsmouth)

"The first goal was going to be important and I thought they were more capable of grabbing it and I was grateful we went in at half-time level.

"But it's a squad game nowadays and although we won at Middlesbrough I changed a winning team.

"It's been a great start and it's given us a good platform and if we have a bad run it will stand us in good stead."

David Cotterill (Wigan Athletic)

At the moment, i've got miced feelings. I'm delighted i was able to get on and play a part in my first match and sample the atmosphere of the Premiership, but like every footballer, ihate losing and we were all very disappointed as a team that we didn't get anything out of the game."
