Jewell on Watford draw

"In my opinion I don't think we were anything better than rubbish tonight. Give credit to Watford for that as they have made it very hard for us, played well and we are probably lucky to go home with a point. That point is the one pleasing thing about tonight, I'm certainly not pleased with the performance. I thought the back four did very well for us and got us the point, but apart from that I'm not happy.

"I didn't think we looked very threatening going forward and our passing wasn't good enough as we created very little. Apart from the header from 'Duke' that was brilliantly saved by their 'keeper, I think they had all the game's good chances. That isn't good enough. I was upset with the way we played in the second half at Derby and I'm upset with the entire performance tonight. We set high standards here and the players are under no illusions that tonight's showing wasn't good enough.

"We're certainly down to the bare bones due to injury but I'm not into making excuses - we had enough quality out on the field to do far better than we did this evening. Gary Teale's hurt his knee which is why we brought him off and to be honest we aren't having a lot of luck with knees at the moment. That's Per Frandsen, Matt Jackson and 'Tealey' who have all picked up problems now. To be honest I think I'm going to have to look at bringing someone in but that isn't always as easy as it sounds and I'll have to look at what's available. That's not a worry for tonight though.

"All in all, as I said the only good thing about tonight is that we are going home with a point and therefore, looking at how the game went, I would say it's a point gained. Credit goes to Watford on the night and I imagine that they will feel disappointed not to have won and I understand why. We'll certainly have to be far better than that if we have aspirations of finishing in at least the top six and therefore it's vital that we put in a good showing and get a positive result on Saturday before we go into the two week international break."
