Fulham Reaction: Jol pleased with empty victory

The Latics have been in commanding form over the past two months but were unfortunately beaten by an already safe Fulham side.

Speaking about the game, Cottagers manager Martin Jol said: "I felt it was well deserved. We didn't play them off the park, but that would have been impossible.

"They've played against Arsenal and Manchester United and they beat them. Even against Chelsea they should have had a result.

"We know what they were trying to do. They were trying to break with Moses, Maloney, if he plays, and Gomez.

"They did well in their style. They've changed their style and they've got results so compliments to my team."

The defeat came on the same day that Q.P.R. managed a home win against Tottenham to go level on points with the Latics. Blackburn also managed a home win over Norwich whilst Bolton managed only a point at home to Swansea.
