Fulham Reaction: Jol pleased with away win

Former Latics striker Hugo Rodallega and Irish international Damien Duff were on the scoresheet for the Cottagers in what was a good away win for the London club.

Speaking to the Fulham official website, Jol said: “Wigan make it difficult for you with five defenders, or two wing-backs, so it was a gamble to play with two central midfield players, plus two strikers.

“But I knew that Rodallega would probably be very eager and motivated to do something nice and to score his goal and that is exactly what he did so that was very pleasing for us.

“I made a gamble to play with Rodallega – on top of our attack – and Dimitar, who was as good as you could imagine as a number 10, which is a different role.”
