Fulham Reaction: A point gained

With ten minutes to go and the way we were playing, I could not really see a way back in for Fulham, they did not create much in the second half. They huffed and puffed a bit but we were comfortable.

We were unfortunate when they gave themselves a lifeline but we take a draw. The improvement is there for everyone else to see and I am pleased with that and we have given ourselves a chance by edging closer towards the teams above us.

A month ago, we were looking a little marooned, so all of a sudden we seem to have turned it around a little bit. I can see confidence and belief coming back into the team and there were good signs for us today.

He [Bent] has been terrific for us, and he is a proven Premier League striker and he is right on the top of his game at the moment and I hope he keeps repeating his performances because that is important whilst we are without Emile Heskey.

We have two home games coming up and I'd settle for four points as we are in striking distance of the teams above.

Ray Lewington (Fulham's Caretaker Manager)

We can't feel sorry for ourselves and in terms of spirit and effort, we can't complain. The situation was it was reasonably late in the morning when I was told I would be caretaker manager. There were no promises, no nothing.

I said I was happy to do it and would get on with it to the best of my ability. They said they were drawing up a list of people they were going to have a look at and that my name would be on there. I am realistic to know there is a fair chance they will go outside, but I am okay with that.

It is a really good club to work for and they know they have got to get it right with the transfer window opening. They have got to get the right man and if that is me, then fine, if not then that is okay as well.
