Derby Reaction: Sib the Super Sub

We seemed to have steadied the ship and turned things around a bit. It was a vitally important win for us today and it has given everybody a lift, and you can slowly see the confidence coming back.

Today I thought we were by far the better team in the first half and we should had won the game handsomely as we have got some good players here.

I don't think I've ever had a substitution work out like the one we had today, but I am delighted. Sibierski has got that little bit ability and little bit of class, and when you are down where we are you need people like that to be able to bring on.

We are slightly ahead of schedule than what I thought we would be. If I am brutally honest I thought we were dead and buried after the Bolton game. So get back in the pack as quickly as we have done has given everybody a lift.

I thought he was terrific for his debut [Wilson Palacios], he hasn't played for a couple of months so he got a bit tired towards the end so he is not quite at his best yet.

He is such a talented player because he can play on the left, on the right, in the middle, off the front and he will give something a little bit different. He was recommended to me by Arsene Wenger and I couldn't believe it when Birmingham did not take up the option to extend his loan there. He will be a really good player for us.

It was a very disappointing result. We threw in four new players today but the gamble didn't pay off, there's no doubt about it. I was very disappointed with the way we performed. It was always going to be difficult when we were down to ten men because we didn't look like scoring with 11.

We had to bring the players in even though we knew that some of them hadn't played for a while. It is a risk but at this stage of the season we have to take risks. Draws are no good to us, we need ten wins really, and we tried today but we just weren't good enough.

Claude is not a dirty player. I wouldn't really like to comment because I haven't had chance to look at it again but once we were down to ten it was a big uphill struggle.

If it's not injuries it's a sending off that's hit us but we can't feel sorry for ourselves. We didn't play well today, there is no getting away from that.
