"We did okay in the second half, although we were never at our best. I thought we might just nick a goal but we got undone by Andy Cole's goal."

"So we are out of the F.A. Cup, and every manager already has his press conference written when they get beat, it's like 'Well it's a blessing in disguise', but we feel sick because we lost a game and we don't like losing matches."

"When we made the substitutions in the first half we looked a little bit more inventive and positive. I thought we could win it with one goal but it wasn't to be."

"Manchester City managers take whatever results they can, whether it be an early goal or a late goal! An early goal would have settled us down a little bit.

"We had enough pressure on them, but in the last third I felt that we did not have that composure. Getting an early goal would have relaxed the players a bit more.

"We had to be patient and wait for an opportunity to fall to one of the top predators in the country, and we're pleased to be through in the FA Cup."

"It's not easy to beat anyone in the cup, we have had a couple of home ties, come through it today and we will wait for the draw on Monday.

"We know we have to try and win games 'dirty', and that was the case today. We have to hold in there and win games 1-0 or 2-0."
