Charlton Reaction

Despite the fact we had just won three on the spin, we knew this was a tough game, because people will look at Charlton's position in the league but it never works that way.

The conditions were certainly difficult for the players but once we found ourselves 2-0 up I thought we should have gone on to win the game easily.

But you have to give Charlton credit, they came at us and we gave a bad goal away. I'm a bit disappointed in the way we defended today for their two goals, and I warned the players that there might be mistakes beforehand, and to make sure we don't make them.

We've been tight in the last three games, but we've got three points today in difficult conditions and I have to be delighted with that. You cannot realise how difficult the wind is until you get onto the touchline or the pitch.

We have given away two mad goals and then once we are chasing the game it leaves us in a vulnerable position as they played on the counter.

We must start games with a great desire and intensity and not wait to be two goals down before we start playing.

The game was reasonably close and on the positive side my team showed plenty of spirit and commitment.
