Speaking the club's official website, Martinez couldn't hide his delighted that the impressive Latics performance yielded maximum points in a crucial relegation six pointer.
He said: "The performance on the pitch was fantastic; from start to finish we looked in control and for large spells as though we were the home side.
"Every time we went forward we looked dangerous and dealt with their threat very well at the back, and overall it was a very well deserved three points.
"To perform in that manner for two weeks running shows the consistency in our play and the need to go into the next 13 games competing for every point available."
It was a polished display from the Latics who looked in control of proceedings for long periods.
