Blackburn Reaction: Bruce pleased with midfield duo

Here is the reaction of the two managers.

Steve Bruce

We got off to the best possible start against a team which is low on confidence, but I stressed after watching them against Liverpool the other week that they're a good team.

We just blitzed them away in the first 20 minutes. Antonio was at his absolute rampaging best and he can do that to any team. Together with Mario (Melchiot) down the right side they were both very good.

Cattermole has been a terrific signing for us. He's only 20 years old and if there's a tackle to be made, or a challenge to be won you would want him by your side.

He's a natural leader of men and I'm absolutely delighted with him. He scored today and that's probably what he needed because he's getting into more advanced positions.

Paul Ince

It doesn't matter about Paul Ince, it matters about these players. What will be will be.

I'm disappointed for my players and the fans who have come in abundance and we've let them down, we'll have to take stock and start again on Monday.
I don't care who's in charge, me or Alex Ferguson, giving away a two goal start will always be trouble.
