"We paid the ultimate price for concentration. It's a long ball down the middle. We were magnificent all night, and I said at half-time, when you are playing the best teams you have to concentrate for ninety-five minutes, and one little lapse of concentration, and we've paid the ultimate price for it and lost the game.

"But I thought the players were terrific, and I cannot ask for more in ability and effort but we just knocked off for a second and lost the game. It was frustrating in the way we lost the game and conceded the goal, but it wasn't frustrating in terms of the commitment and quality that we showed at times, because I thought our passing and movement was very, very good.

"We just lacked that killer instinct in front of goal when we had some decent chances. The second half was more end-to-end, but in the first half I thought we were the better team as they didn't cause us too much of a problem.

"We tried to win the game, but unfortunately one of their long passes just went through the middle of our back four and Adebayor slotted it in. The margins at this level are very narrow and if you don't take your chances, or you lose concentration for a microsecond, then you can concede goals."
