"It was a good game, a cracking game in fact, the conditions of the heat made it a little difficult, but I think both sets of players deserve a lot of credit. It was a very open game in the first half and I thought we were on top in the second half, and I am disappointed not to get three points, because it might count at the end of the day, I think it is credit to us that Sunderland are more pleased with a point than we are."

"It was very open, and an end-to-end high tempo game and it was made difficult with the heat. I thought in the second half we created the better chances. There are no fresh injury worries, just a lot of tired bodies, and I thought it was a decent advert for the First Division. If the players continue with that level of commitment then I cannot ask for more than that."

"The only thing that did disappoint me was that we did not work the 'keeper enough, we put ourselves in some great situations and we did not do enough to force their 'keeper into a save."
